{ Currently Craving: Valentino }

The retro feel for fall continues (thank goodness!) and right now I'm obsessing over the classic, lady like handbags for fall. This particular over the shoulder suede beauty by Valentino has me swooning to extra heights.

What do you think? Do you want this in your closet as badly as I do?

{ Beat the Heat }

It's time's like today, when the heat reaches a boiling, 45 degrees celsius (including humidity) that I wish I had my short pixie cut back.

For me, heat this strong often makes me lethargic and lazy with my appearance. I want quick, simple...no muss, no fuss.

Today, to deal with mother nature -- I decided to throw my hair in a messy pony tail. I teased my bangs and spraying them up and back to keep them away from face. It was my attempt at a messy/soft punk look.

To give a bit more punch -- I played outside my, "colours" (as I hear my clients gasp! Lol) and played with a dark lip.

What do you do with your look to help with the heat?

{ Summer Hues }

Summertime – afternoons of lazy patio lunches, sun kissed skin, and ice cold drinks.  It’s a wonderful time to indulge in the outdoors and brighten our moods and outfits with vibrant colours.

Many women cling to the black in their closets or be more hesitant in stepping into a world of colour – especially when they aren’t sure what colours are right to choose or how to wear them.

For those that are looking for a little vibrancy in their lives – whether in large or small doses – the solution is always to pick out fun nail polish hues for the summer.

Essie, a brand favourite among many has a fabulous nail polish summer collection that is sure to get you in the mood for sunshine! Filled with the many trending colours for summer (blues, reds, and oranges) – these splashes of varnishes will complete any outfit perfectly.

Being an Essie nail polish addict myself, I have to say – I already have their, “Too Too Hot” shade and also another summer favourite of mine the, “Turquoise and Caicos” colour  (pictured below) that though not listed in their summer collection, I feel should be.

So whether you’re looking to add a little extra colour to your outfit, or are looking to play with some more vibrant hues this summer on your nails – remember to have fun with some great reds, blues, and oranges. They’re summers chic and playful shades!

{ Love Etc. }

I love movies with a good message in them. I adore them even more when love is thrown into the mix (I'm a sucker for romance, what can I say?).

Recently, while cruising some blogs -- I saw the trailer for the upcoming documentary, "Love Etc." on Amanda's blog, Acoest 1984.

A movie that follows six real love stories involving a single father, a gay couple, a high school pairing, and an arranged marriage are just the beginnings.

Beautifully shot, this film is bound to have you cheering, laughing, crying, and swooning as you ride along the emotional roller-coaster of love with these individuals.

Unfortunately, so far it's only airing in NYC.

What do you think? How bad do you want to see this movie like I do?

{ In The Nude }

I have been on the hunt for the perfect nude pumps for months now. They are a must for every woman's closet. I wanted the right warm shade, height, and toe.

Being a huge fan of Rachel Zoe -- I have to admit to repeatedly cruising her picks for Piperlime. I found these recently (now on sale) and had to scoop them up. While they look high, they are incredibly comfortable. These are also available in brown and black.

What do you think? Do you have a pair of nude heels in your closet?

{ Shoe Spotlight }

Sometimes when shopping I see the most spectacular shoes in stores; some with glitter, others with prints -- all of which come in an array of beautiful colours. It's enough to make a girls knees weak.

For occasions such as this, it's necessary to sometimes create an outfit that's, 'all about the shoes'. Because we're in the midst of wedding season and garden parties -- I created an outfit appropriate for such occasions. When special pieces in your wardrobe have a variety of colours in them -- don't be afraid to pull those colours into your look!

{ The Circus is in the Dior House! }

                                                               {Images courtesy of wwd.com}

With all of the drama surrounding the Dior house after John Galliano's public humiliation -- everyone was anxiously awaiting to see how the couture house would fare without a designer. As everyone might have expected...poorly.

While Dior is normally know for the whimsical flare of it's shows, the over the top dresses and mixtures of the most elaborate prints and fabrics; this collection -- although desperately reaching, failed miserably.

Instead of creating a whimsical and imaginative world one would want to step into...the viewer was left in a world of distorted clowns that had everyone thinking, "Thank-God I don't have to wear that."

To Bill Gaytten and first assistant Susanna Venegas -- they did try, I'm sure. Some of the shapes from garments past, we're visible. However, I think it is safe to say that the very best of Dior (or at least the true fantasy aspect of it) is over for now.

The next chosen designer has big shoes to fill (and hopefully will leave the racism behind).
